U City Library to Host Essence Bestselling Author Brenda Hampton

Hampton will discuss her new memoir "In My Shoes."

The  will welcome Essence bestselling author Brenda Hampton on Aug. 27.

Hampton, a St. Louis native, has written dozens of novels, including the popular Naughty series. The reading will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 27.

Hampton will discuss and read from her new memoir, In My Shoes, which relates her life-changing discovery of the power of writing.

Known as a writer who “brings the heat,” Hampton has over 20 books to her credit, and was listed by Upscale magazine as a favorite female fiction writer. 

She is also the founder of VOICES Books & Publishing.

According to Hampton, VOICES is the place where every voice can be heard, and she uses her company to assist writers through the POD process. As a literary agent, she has worked with such high-profile authors as Keisha Ervin, Curtis Alcutt and Nikki-Michelle.

Copies of In My Shoes will be available for purchase at this event. 

This event will take place in the Library’s auditorium. Refreshments will be served, and there is no charge for admission. All are welcome.
