RISEN celebrates phenomenal African-American Achievers dating back to the year 1619 when the first 20 slaves were brought to the Colony of Jamestown, Virginia to the present in which we have a family that occupies the White House that resembles those same 20 passengers that arrived unwillingly 391 years ago. RISEN showcases the great transformation and journey of African-Americans in America.
The Stage Play RISEN is presenting a pre-screening/FUNDRAISER for 4 student that were selected as Young Ambassadors for Nonviolence to travel to South Africa to study “The struggle from Apartheid to Democracy” and the role nonviolence played.
