Scott Phillips to Speak at UCPL

The Friends of the University City Public Library present an evening with Scott Phillips on January 18 at 7:00 p.m. Phillips will read from his newest work, The Adjustment, and sign copies. Books will be available for purchase courtesy of Subterranean Books. The RFT has just named The Adjustment as “The Best Book by a Local Author” for 2011 and the New York Times named it this year’s “Favorite Noir” title. Phillips' first novel, The Ice Harvest, won the California Book Award, as well as being nominated for the Edgar Award and Hammett Prize, and shortlisted for the Crime Writers' Association Gold Dagger Award, and was selected as a New York Times Notable Book of the Year.  Phillips also is the author of Cottonwood and The Walkaway

Come and meet this fascinating local author, and join the Friends in supporting UCPL. Refreshments will be served.
