Aja La’Starr is a hip hop/spoken word artist and educator from St. Louis, Missouri and through her spoken word/hip hop career, she has performed all over the country, has made several appearances on BET, as well as opened for Jill Scott, Mary J. Blige and rap mogul 50 Cent. Her first book, Refuge: A Poetic Sanctuary, is a collection of poetry and prose that discusses everything from spirituality and identity to love and cultural awareness.
