January Family Day: Arts and Cultures of Asia

Join the World Chess Hall of Fame for its first Family Day of 2012!

Celebrate the Chinese New Year by exploring chess sets and arts of China and other Asian countries! Decorate your own dragon, a symbol of good luck in many Asian cultures. Then try your hand at origami, the Japanese art of paper folding.

Sessions begin at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m., and will last approximately one hour.

No chessplaying experience or knowledge necessary, and children of all ages are welcome! The hands-on activity is recommended for ages 5-12. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
