Continued Rain Means No Get Your Chalk On
This weekend's heavy rains have made the Delmar Loop's asphalt too wet for chalk art.
Saturday's rains, a remnant of Hurricane Isaac, have forced the cancellation of today's event.
The Loop Special Business District issued the following statement Saturday:
Unfortunately Mother Nature is not cooperating with our sidewalk art chalk festival this weekend. Due to the large amounts of rain that we received today, the sidewalks in The Loop are saturated with water and we are going to have to cancel the event tomorrow.
At this point in time we do not have another date scheduled for this event. We will notify everyone if we are able re-schedule the event.
