University City to Host Free Outdoor Summer Movies
University City will show an outdoor screening of "Raiders of the Lost Ark" on Wednesday, July 20.
will host two free outdoor movie nights for residents this summer.
“Raiders of the Lost Ark,” will be screened on Wednesday, July 20 at Heman Park. The movie will began about 8:45pm. The film released in 1981 stars Harrison Ford.
The Jackson Park Elementary School PTO will sell concessions. The second movie screening is slated for Wednesday, August 31. No word on what movie will be featured that evening.

According to a U City press release, Mayor Shelley Welsch worked with University City resident Wilmetta Tolliver-Diallo to organize the movie events.
“Ms. Tolliver-Diallo approached me with the idea as a way to provide additional recreational opportunities for youth this summer,” said Welsch.

Welsch hopes the movie nights become a U City tradition.
“I would love to see these free movie nights expand into a larger-scale endeavor, possibly a summer movie series next year."
