University City Resident Receives Prestigious Law Award

U City attorney recognized for public interest legal work.

University City resident Joel Ferber has received the prestigious Clarence Darrow Award from Saint Louis University’s School of Law.

According to a press release, the award recognizes a local attorney for outstanding public interest legal work.

Ferber has worked with the Legal Services of Eastern Missouri (LSEM) since 1985, where he focuses on welfare law issues. He is  LSEM’s director of advocacy.

“This is a wonderful and well-deserved recognition for Joel,” said Dan Glazier, LSEM executive director and general counsel. “He has been a terrific advocate on behalf of our clients and we salute Joel for his many significant accomplishments. He is making a real difference in the lives of those we serve.”

Legal Services of Eastern Missouri is an independent, non-profit organization that provides legal assistance in civil cases to the low-income community.
