While St. Louis attorney Joe Jacobson was one of three finalists nominated to fill a vacancy on the Missouri Supreme Court, the University City resident was ultimately not named to the high court.

Governor Jay Nixon on Wednesday named Judge George W. Draper III as the newest member of the Missouri Supreme Court. Draper, who has served on the bench of the Missouri Court of Appeals Eastern District since 2000, will fill a vacancy created by the retirement of the Honorable Michael Wolff in August.
