U City in Bloom Is Going to the Birds
The non-profit is holding a fundraising event Sept. 30.
U City in Bloom is going to the birds. The non-profit organization, which maintains 325 public gardens in University City, is holding a party to fund its latest project.
The group has created a new bird habitat and is having a party, "It's for the Birds," to raise funds for the venture.
This gala evening event will include wine and appetizers in the Bird Garden, a silent auction featuring decorative bird cages and artist decorated bird houses, music and dinner.

The event is slated for 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 30, at .
The guests attending this event will include major birders and first class gardeners and members of the St. Louis Audubon Society.

When completed, the garden will include a water feature, native plants, bird feeders, benches and interpretive signs to aid in bird identification.
