Peace Committee Car Wash Rained Out; Make Up Dates to be Announced
Stormy weather sidelined Saturday's Peace Committee Car Wash, but the kids still got together and had a pizza party.
Saturday's Peace Committee Car Wash fundraiser was rained out. Instead, the student volunteers got together at the McNair Administration Building for a pizza party.
The group is trying to raise money to send four University City High School students to South Africa this summer. The four students were selected as Young Ambassadors for Nonviolence. In South Africa, they'll study “The struggle from Apartheid to Democracy” and the role nonviolence played.
Organizers hope to reschedule the car wash.
