Festival of Lights in U City's Gannondale Neighborhood

The Gannondale Neighborhood Association is sponsoring the 6th Annual Luminaria Display on Sunday, December 11th, beginning at 6pm.

University City's Gannondale neighborhood will be all aglow on Sunday as residents line the streets with candles for the 6th Annual Luminaria Display.

The event begins at 6pm on Sunday, December 11th, and it's free and open to the public.

For luminaria night, sidewalks are lined with paper bags holding sand and candles. One resident tells University City Patch that last year, about 1,000 bags were put out and glowed between 6:00pm and 9:00pm. She said that usually a group of horn players perform during the evening and some of the neighbors host open houses.
