Habitat for Humanity Blitz Build: Day 2

A look at the five new Habitat homes during the first week of construction.

Last week, volunteers, officals and prospective homeowners helped kick off Habitat for Humanity's first University City project by raising the walls during a ceremony marking the start of construction on five new homes.

This week, a massive "blitz build" began to get the walls and roofs up on the new four bedroom, 1.5 bath, two story homes. Beginning Monday, workers will be trying to make as much progress on the LEED-certified homes near the intersection of Kingsland and Bartmer.

Each day this week, University City Patch will track the progress of the homes. Here is how the new structures looked after Day 2 of the blitz build.
