Friday is National Bike to Work Day

Big Shark Bicycle Company in Delmar Loop offering free breakfast to commuters who bike to work on Friday, National Bike to Work Day.

If you haven't dusted off that bike that's been lying dormant since winter, now is the time to do it. Friday, May 20, 2011 is National Bike to Work Day. Plus, you'll get free breakfast if you pedal to work.

Trailnet, a non-profit, environmental organization will be offering free continental breakfast for bike commuters at various refueling stations across St. Louis. Breakfast will be served 6:30 – 9:00 a.m.  The fueling station closets to U City will be at Big Shark Bicycle Company at 6133 Delmar.

 Trailnet’s Executive Director Ann Mack will lead a “Bikepool” from the Missouri History Museum Refueling Station to the Downtown Bicycle Station Refueling Station.  Meet Trailnet’s Executive Director Ann Mack at the Missouri History Museum at 7:00 a.m. and bike as a group to get to the Downtown Bicycle Station by 8:00 a.m. for the Mayor’s proclamation of National Bike to Work Day.

As an added bonus, on Friday commuters can use the new Downtown Bicycle Station (1011 Locust Street) for free from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.  For up-to-date Refueling Station information, visit http://trailnet.org/our-work/travelgreen.
