The Fish on a Bicycle statue has been reinstalled in Lewis Park Pond after it was taken out for repairs.

The  is once again pedaling on Lewis Park Pond.

The sculpture was re-installed Friday morning by The Gateway Foundation, which donated the sculpture to University City and maintains it.

The statue was removed from the pond several months ago to undergo repair. It was damaged over the winter, said Ewald Winker, Interim Director of the Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department.

It was reportedly vandalized and found "leaning," by the Parks Department. No one knows exactly what happened. It's thought that when the pond froze over this past winter some people walked out to the statue and played on it, bending it.

The Gateway Foundation, which picked up the tab, estimated it cost about $20,000 to repair the sculpture. There were about 6 breaks that needed to be repaired.
