Raja, the first Asian elephant born at the Saint Louis Zoo on December 27, 1992, celebrates his 19th birthday.
Weather permitting, zookeepers and volunteers will host a birthday party for Raja at his habitat in River's Edge at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 27, 2011.
They have constructed giant presents for the party, filled with some of the elephant's favorite things, including cereal, melons, bananas, popcorn and more. Visitors are invited to sing "Happy Birthday" and cheer for Raja when he comes out to "open" his gifts.
