Verizon Wireless Recognized as the Network Quality Leader in Southwest Region, including Missouri, in Latest J.D. Power Study

Verizon Wireless ranked highest among all other national wireless providers in the Southwest region, which includes Missouri, and in the five other regions covering the rest of the continental U.S., in the J.D. Power 2013 Wireless Network Quality Performance StudySM, Volume 2, issued Aug. 29. This is the sixth consecutive reporting period that Verizon Wireless ranks highest in the Southwest region.                                    

The J.D. Power study measured network quality among U.S. wireless service providers. More than 26,000 wireless subscribers were surveyed by J.D. Power from January through June 2013 about their experiences with wireless voice, text messaging and data usage. Based on their responses, Verizon Wireless ranked highest among national wireless companies in all six regions, including the Southwest region and tied in the North Central region.

In six regions covering the U.S., including the Southwest region, which includes Missouri, Arkansas, Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas.

BACKGROUND:                       

The Verizon 4G LTE network is now available to nearly 301 million people in more than 500 markets across the United States, representing more than 99 percent of the company’s 3G footprint.

Since December 2010, when Verizon Wireless launched its 4G LTE network in Missouri, the company has aggressively expanded its4G LTE footprint throughout throughout the state.

In 2013, Verizon Wireless added additional 4G LTE coverage to cell sites throughout Missouri and the Southwest region providing customers with speeds up to ten times faster than 3G networks.

Verizon Wireless’ roll out of its 4G LTE (Long Term Evolution) network across Missouri and the Southwest region is now substantially complete.
