Farmers Market will offer pony rides and a petting zoo on Saturday August 17 in
addition to live music, locally grown vegetables, fresh fruit, grass-fed beef,
bakery goods, arts, crafts, jewelry and other consumer products.
Admission to The Overland Farmers Market is free. Meadow Crest Farms experts will have one horse, one pony and a petting zoo for children’s amusement. Rides are one dollar. Petting zoo entry is 25 cents for a cup of food for the zoo animals. The pony rides and petting zoo will be open from 9:00 a.m. till 12:00 noon. The market is open from 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Richard A. Kilzer, president of the Overland Farmers Market Board of Directors, said “The pony rides and petting zoo will be lots of fun on August 17 – bring your cameras! Our market encourages and supports local growers and farmers, and we attract people of all ages who value the entertainment and variety of goods that we offer.”
The Overland Farmers Market is open Saturdays weather permitting, and will continue operating this year until late October.
“Most of our vendors are local producers of fresh fruits, vegetables, meat and garden plants, in addition to people offering other goods for sale after being approved by our Management Committee,” Mr. Kilzer said.
