What is not to love in this neighborhood! With wide streets and mature trees, it is certainly one of the prettiest neighborhoods in University City, MO and includes some of U City’s best examples of period revival architecture, with a heavy emphasis on English and Mediterranean genres.
In the “Upper Hills” – Teasdale, Greenway, Creveling & Overhills, there are larger 3,500+ sq ft homes with stunning architectural details from the 1920s and 1930s. The lower part of the Hills (closer to downtown Clayton) offers smaller homes, but with some of the same beautiful details as the larger homes. From this neighborhood, residents can walk to downtown Clayton, the Delmar Loop, and Washington University’s Hilltop Campus. This private neighborhood maintains its own, very helpful website. Some readers will be amused by the “Excessive Dog Barking Proceedure.”
