Winslow’s Home, in University City, apparently knows what people like to eat.

The specialty restaurant won the popular vote at the Brentwood Galleria Whole Food’s Grass-Fed Beef Cook-Off for the second year in a row.

Pimento cheese, coleslaw on a brioche bun was chef Cary McDowell’s winning recipe. The chef called his winning burger “Summer” 2012.

Each of the six St. Louis area eateries entered started with 60 pounds of grass fed beef from Rain Crow Ranch. Bailey’s Range, Five Bistro, The Acero and Sidney Street Café all had their own take on the classic grilled burger. Sidney Street Café won the judges’ prize.

Each winning teams won the opportunity to name a charity to receive $500. Winslow’s Home chose Operation Back Pack, an Operation Food Search program. School children who need help having enough healthy food to eat are given a backpack of good things to eat for the weekend.

The Sidney Street Café chose the MS Society.
