William Holden Joining St. Louis' Walk of Fame
The ceremony for the latest star on Delmar Blvd. is Aug. 9.
Oscar-winning actor and O'Fallon, IL. native William Holden will join a prestigious group of celebrities when his star is added to the St. Louis Walk of Fame. Holden's star dedication will be Aug. 9.
The St. Louis Walk of Fame is located on Delmar sidewalks in the Loop. Plaques of famous St. Louisians in politics, entertainment, science and sports are displayed.
According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Holden was born William Franklin Beedle Jr. in 1918. His family moved to California when he was a young child.
The Ceremony
The ceremony to dedicate Holden's star will be held at 11:30 a.m. Aug. 9 at 6150 Delmar, across from the Moonrise Hotel.
Brian Keller, president of the O’Fallon Historical Society, will accept the award. Holden died in 1981.

My favorite actor ever!!!!!! Absolutely love bill holden. My favorite of his films are: union station, boots Malone, fedora, the turning point, sunset blvd., stalag 17, forever female, the lion. Nevermind I just love everything he did!!! So happy he has a star in my hometown.
