The campus alert system at Washington University was accidentally tripped this morning.
The alert system sent electronic alerts about 10:35 a.m. saying there was a "potential threat to safety" on the Danforth campus, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. The alert instructed students and faculty to go to a secure location until further notice.
Within 10 minutes, the University had canceled the alert and said it was accidentally activated.
It was not immediately clear how the alert was activated Wednesday morning.
