I am only a supporter of Todd Akin to the extent that I would vote for anyone or anything running against Claire McCaskill. That said, I think McCaskill has really reached a new low in political discourse. She is using a terrible violation that these woman have done through for her own political gain. I am not going to call these women liars, but I cannot imagine anyone in their right mind who has been raped and brutalized allowing any politician to take advantage of that. Disgusting to me on just about every level. I think McCaskill is going to find out that she turns more folks away as a result of looking like an opportunist capitalizing on the abuse of these women.

How kind of you to refrain from calling these women liars, Matt. It would be awful if someone questioned the "legitimacy" of what happened to them, wouldn't it? It might even make them angry, or make them take a position or vote for a candidate they wouldn't vote for under any other circumstance.

I do see that you have no problem judging their motivations for doing the ad and that you've decided they can't possibly be in their "right minds". They're just really stupid and easily used, yes? Well at least they're not liars.

These women have experienced something horrible, had to face a gut-wrenching choice in the aftermath (emergency contraception or not), and now have stood publicly to state these facts and they are criticized? Although abortion rights may be more widely used than many of us would like, the thought of going back to where women had no choice is even more frightening and abhorrent. This isn't an intention to scale back abortions, it's an all out attempt to ban legal ones. That is a situation women should not have to face again.

I can"t believe our country has stooped to the point that these kind of people are the only ones we can nominate for office. I guess they are the best money can buy. And I am very vocal and I do vote.
