University City Symphony to Perform at All Saints

An internationally acclaimed violinist will join the symphony for the performance.

All Saints Catholic Church in University City will host a free concert by the University City Symphony Orchestra at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 12 that will feature internationally acclaimed violinist Alejandro Drago.

“We are always pleased to have the University City Symphony play at our church,” said Monsignor Michael Witt, pastor at All Saints. “We invite everyone in the community to come hear a wonderful concert.”

The Symphony began playing at All Saints about 20 years ago at the urging of parishioner Elsie Glickert. Glickert was a member of the City Council of University City at the time.

The Symphony’s selections for the concert are Violin Concerto by Berg, to be performed by Alejandro Drago, Pulcinella Suite by Igor Stravinsky and Adagietto from Symphony No. 5 by Gustav Mahler.

All Saints Parish has been a part of the University City community for more than 100 years. It is located at Clemens and Westgate, a few blocks north of the Delmar Loop.

There are no religious services that are part of the concert.
