City Issues a Call for Entries for U City Photo Show

Entries due March 28-31.

 

The City of University City has issued a call for entries for the University City Photo Show. The show is open to youth (12thgrade and younger) and adult amateur photographers in the St. Louis metropolitan area.

Entries may be delivered from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 28-31 at the control desk of Centennial Commons. Contest categories are as follows:

Adult (Ages 19 and older)

  • Black and White Photography
  • Color Photography
  • U. City Themes — color or black & white

Youth (Students 18 and younger)

  • Black and White Photography
  • Color Photography
  • U. City Themes — color or black & white

Innovative Photography

Open to youth and adults experimenting with new techniques, including hand coloring, high contrast, collage, solarizing and other processes that test the limits of the medium and computer generated special effects. Original image must have been photographed by the entrant. No stock photography which has been manipulated will be accepted.

The categories for this area of the competition are:

  • Traditional Techniques
  • Computer Generated Effects 

Cash prizes will be awarded for Best In Show, First Place and Second Place winners. Winners will be announced and prizes awarded at the Awards Reception on Sunday, April 15, at the University City Public Library.
