University City came together Saturday afternoon to celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

The University City School District and the City of University City joined together for the 26th annual program titled "Remembering the Man, Embracing His Vision." The event was held at University City High School.

Students presented orations based on the words of Dr. King and honored him with musical performances.

The 2012 MLK Spirit Award was presented to Redditt Hudson, a 1983 graduate of University City High School. Hudson is a program associate for the American Civil Liberties Union of Eastern Missouri.
