UCHS Athletic Director Placed on Paid Administrative Leave
The School District has placed Chad Kish, the Athletic Director at the High School on paid administrative leave.
The University City School District has placed University City High School Athletic Director Chad Kish on paid administrative leave.
In an email to University City Patch, Linda Russell, the communications director for the school district said "Yes, Mr. Kish is on paid administrative leave. It does not involve students."
University City Patch was informed of the situation via an email from a student at the high school.
The student was informed of Kish's leave today, no reason was given for placing Kish on paid leave.
This is Kish's first year as athletic director of UCHS, after spending last school year in the same position at Riverview Gardens High School. Before Riverview, Kish spent five years as an associate basketball coach at Mineral Area College in Park Hills, Mo.
In an interview with University City Patch this past December, Kish said that he sometimes missed the coaching scene, but said he felt he was making more of an impact on students thought his position at UCHS.
"I miss the competition and preparing for a game," he said. "But the thing I enjoy most about this job is that instead of having an impact on a single team, you have 300 to 400 kids per season that you relate to on a daily basis and that's why you coach."
