I hope we have more updates on this story. Like what possible motive there could have been for these so-called "adults" to have even brought guns to a park in a residential area surrounded by daycares, stores, and schools. This story hits home. Literally. Heman Park is considered one of our community centers - friends, neighbors, students I teach, my family, all of us use the park, work there, workout there, drive past it daily, etc. But the park has had a troubled summer. Maybe we need more police presence in the park - though I do see police cars there often. Maybe the police should be on foot or on bike as well.

I'm glad the police were there. I'm glad they caught the guys right away and frankly, I hope they throw the book at them. Now. What's the next step for future safety?
