SWIMMING SEASON BEGINS AT HEMAN PARK POOL
Saturday May, 28 at 12:00pm-8:00pm. Heman Park Pool. Dust of that swimsuit, it's pool time. again The Heman Park pool officially opens for the season. Click here for pool admission fees.
CELEBRATE U CITY COMMUNITY PARADE
Sunday May 29 from 12:00pm-1:00pm at Jackson Park Elementary School, 7400 Balson Ave. JP is the staging area for the Celebrate U City Community Parade, which kicks off the two-day Fair UCity Festival. Everyone is invited to take part.
Sunday May 29 (1:00pm-9:00pm) and Monday May 30 (11:00am-7:00pm) at Heman Park. U City kicks off summer with a two day carnival called Fair UCity. It'll have rides, games, food, music, hot rods and more. Click here for ticket information. And click here for a calendar of scheduled events.
UNIVERSITY CITY MEMORIAL DAY RUN
Monday May 30 at 8:00am at the University City Public Library, 6701 Delmar. The 5k and 10k races start at 8:00am at the library. There is also a Fun Run for kids. Click here to register online. Proceeds from the race benefit the Green Center, U-City in Bloom, University City Children’s Center and the U City library.
Monday May 30 from 12:00pm-1:00pm at 7000 Olive Blvd. University City Boy Scouts will formally dispose of worn or damaged U.S. flags. The ceremony will be short, but the Scouts will continue the burning until all presented flags are properly disposed of.
