POST-DISPATCH SPELLING BEE FINALS
When/Where: Saturday 9am. Maryville University, located at 650 Maryville University Drive. Why Go: To silently cheer on Brittany Woods Middle School student Christine Politte is one of 32 finalists taking part in the finals. Pricing: Free. No children under the age of three allowed into the auditorium.
ARE YOU READY TO GET YOUR HANDS DIRTY?
When/Where: Saturday 10am, University City Children's Center, 6646 Vernon. Why Go: Spring is around the corner and UCCC is anticipating a wonderful growing season for its children, families, and community to enjoy. It is time to start preparing the garden beds. Come and help! Pricing: Free. Coffee and Donuts provided. Children are welcome to help if supervised by a parent. If you have any questions email Garden Coordinator Leah Smith at lsmith@uccc.org.
STUDENT BUILT ROBOTS COMPETE IN ST. LOUIS
When/Where: Saturday 9:30am at Chaifetz Arena, on the campus of St. Louis University. Why Go: Give hometown support to the UCHS Robolions team compete in the FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC). The students designed, built, and programmed a robot to perform prescribed tasks against a field of competitors. Pricing: Free and open to the public. Make sure to visit the “pits” and say hi to the team and check out the robot up close.
ATTENTION BARGAIN HUNTERS: ST. LOUIS MUSEUM STORES GARAGE SALE
When/Where: Saturday 9am. St. Louis area museum gift shops including the Saint Louis Art Museum and Saint Louis Zoo. Why Go: Shop for close-out, clearance and almost-one-of-a-kind items. Pricing: Admission is free.
