Super Bowl 2013: What Time, Where to Watch in University City
Where in St. Louis do you plan to watch the San Francisco 49ers take on the Baltimore Ravens for Super Bowl 47?
It's already being called the Harbowl: a Super Bowl clash between San Francisco 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh and Baltimore Ravens coach John Harbaugh. The Harbaughs are the first pair of brothers to work as head coaches in the NFL, and they'll square off for Super Bowl 47 on Feb. 3.
This year, Missouri has a few connections to the big game. St. Louis resident Joe Larrew has been selected as an official for the Super Bowl, Bernie Miklasz of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Veterans from the University of Missouri football program also are represented on each team: 49ers defensive ends Aldon Smith and Justin Smith and Ravens coach Ted Monachino all played at Mizzou, and Ravens offensive line coach Andy Moeller previously coached there. Jim Leavitt, a 49ers coach, also attended Mizzou in the '70s.
For the Super Bowl, kickoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on CBS. If you're looking for a place to watch the game in University City or nearby, here are some suggestions:
- Market Pub House
- Blueberry Hill Restaurant & Music Club
- Barrister's (Clayton)
- The Post Sports Bar and Grill (Maplewood)
- Buffalo Wild Wings (Brentwood)
The The Ritz-Carlton, St. Louis in Clayton will be holding a watch party that begins at 5 p.m. in The Lobby Lounge. The lounge will have a special menu, which will include buffalo chicken dip, chicken wings, beef quesadillas, toasted ravioli, gumbo and more.
The writers at Bleacher Report have offered their Super Bowl predictions, but if you're interested in some more untraditional predictions, take a look at TIME Magazine's list of "Wacky Ways of Predicting the Winner," which includes computer and Madden NFL 2013 simulations.
