Ron Paul Speaking at Town Hall Meeting Today

Lindenwood University is hosting the Presidential hopeful at 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 10.

Presidential candidate Ron Paul will speak at a town hall meeting at on Saturday, March 10.

The meeting will take place at 3 p.m. in Lindenwood's Hyland Arena in St. Charles. Admission is free and open to the public, audience members will be admitted on a first-come, first-served basis.

Paul's appearance comes just seven days before the state Republican caucus to choose delegates to the national convention.

Paul has yet to win a Republican primary, and has to date won only 46 delegates to the Republican National Convention. (Romney has 422, Santorum 181, Gingrich 107 and Jon Huntsman, 2. Of the total 1,428 delegates, 1,144 are needed for nomination. The convention will be held Aug. 27 - 30 in Tampa, FL.

The 76-year-old has represented Texas' 14th District in Congress since 1997, serving previously from 1976-1977 and then again from 1979-1985. He ran for President in 1988 as a Libertarian and as a Republican in 2008. According to Wikipedia, Paul "is an outspoken critic of American foreign and monetary policies, known for advocating certain libertarian positions and opposing his own party on certain issues."

Dr. Ron Paul, a native of Pennsylvania, is an obstetrics/gynecology specialist who has delivered more than 4,000 babies, according to Paul's campaign website, as well as authoring several books.
