Police Asked to Up Security For McCaskill After Tea Party Comment

The move follows a conservative activist saying, “We have to kill the Claire Bear," at a Tea Party Express event.

 

Comments made during a Tea Party Express Event last Thursday against Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-MO) triggered U.S. Capitol Police to contact the Kirkwood Police Department to help increase security for the senator, Politico reports.

According to POLITICO, local police have been asked to step up patrols near McCaskill's home in Kirkwood after Scott Boston, a conservative activist, made a statement during the event in which he said, "We have to kill the Claire Bear..."

St. Louis Post-Dispatch Washington Bureau Chief Bill Bill Lambrecht tweeted Wednesday that the U.S. Chamber of Commerce is going forward with an anti-McCaskill ad buy, "calling her most vulnerable Dem incumbent."
