The new Barbara C. Jordan Elementary School building is located at 1500 N. 82nd Boulevard in University City.

The school building was funded through Proposition U, a $53.6M bond issue passed in April of 2009. The two-story building has 24 classrooms capable of accommodating up to 500 students, including specialized classrooms and specialty spaces that will enable students to do more exploratory work.

The District will use the building for meetings in late spring and summer prior to the return of students in the fall of 2011.

University City High School is a great place to get an education. I make thia Statment based on the experience of both of my son's. Our older son, Seth who is 32, attended U City Schools including U City High is presently a successful corporate attorney. Our younger son, Ben who is 22, is graduating from Santa Clara University with an Electrical Engineering Degree. The class Ben was in had 4 Valadictorians, and a host of other students that were in the same range. Not all students can find what they need and want at U City High and the freedom to choose another learing institution is very important. Ben, the EE student, was an integral part in a senior design project and presentation that created a solar powered baby incubator for third world countries. One of the other members of the team is a young woman born in Nigeria who had to be physically carried several miles to an area that had electricity 21 years ago when she was born in a small village. They have a working model of the incubator that they hope will be improved upon to bring the cost lower. Be proud of your son's and daughters who have and will attend University City High School and thanks for the dedicated teachers who provide the opportunity to learn. Total cost of attending he high school was $.00 as opposed to $10,000 and higher to attend a private school.
