First, I do not know this murderer, nor her victim. Just wanted to say how shockingly inadequate I find that sentence! More than 3 times the legal alcohol level and only 3 years' sentence, w/ possible parole after only ONE year???? For taking the completely innocent HUMAN LIFE of a young man who was returning from his job? Absurd. Condolences to Samuel Scott's bereaved family, friends and co-workers, esp. for being wronged a second time by the prosecutor and judge who allowed this travesty of a plea bargain.

This is so wrong on so many levels! This woman got only three years for the murder of a young man! She was drunk and driving, not just a little drunk, but 3 times the legal limit! Once she took the drinks it was premeditated murder! My condolences to Scott's family and co-workers! Shame on the courts for the inadequate sentence! I have no tolerance for people who drive drunk and hurt and kill! Yes, I drink but I do not drive when drinking! ! I also do not ride with people who have been drinking!!!

Have been awaiting this sentencing, and I like the other two commenters am disgusted that this woman will be eligible for parole in one year! Will her license to drive be renewed too so she can do it again?!??! Drunken driving is a voluntary illegal act and killing someone should be voluntary manslaughter. I cycle daily not a mile from where Sam was killed, and I continue to fear for my safety, because drunk driving is so prevalent. Until we punish people harshly for driving drunk, more bicyclists and other drivers WILL die! This is an outrage.
