Jilly's Cupcake Expands Eatery
Jilly's Cupcake Bar and Cafe has remodeled and expanded its restaurant and kitchen.
The business has expanded 1,400 square feet. Jilly's showed off its new digs to customers on Friday morning. Some of the finishing touches are still being hammered out.
The new space adds more seating, a bigger kitchen and also a party room for private events. The store also has a new entrance. Instead of entering through the parking lot facing Delmar, customers will now enter through a front store space off McKnight.
And the pièce de résistance—a window where customers can watch Jilly's cupcake designers at work—decorates the jumbo cupcakes.
This is the second time Jilly's has expanded its eatery this year. In January, University City Patch spoke to Jilly's owner Jill Seagal after the restaurant grew by 1,200 feet, to make more room for tables and chairs.
In June, Jilly's cupcake team won the battle of the Cupcake Wars on the Food Network.
Jilly's opened in August of 2007.
