Habitat Is Raising Roofs Today in U City
Crews will place the roofs on top of the five houses being constructed in University City.
It's time to raise the roof!
Today volunteers with Habitat for Humanity St. Louis will be raising the roofs on the five homes currently under construction in University City. The roofs for each home have been built on the ground. A large crane out and will place them onto the homes.
Habitat first appeared in U City over a year ago, working with city planning officials. In addition to providing access to quality housing for low-income families, the residences will be setting a sustainable example by following LEED construction guidelines.
The new homes are four bedroom, 1.5 bath, two story homes and are designed to blend in aesthetically with the surrounding neighborhoods. The homes should be completed in the fall.
