Each week University City Patch brings you a roundup of things to do in and around U City. Here are some ideas for the weekend of March 16-18.

    Friday

    • Treasured Stories by Eric Carle — The childhood favorite, Eric Carle’s “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” turns 43 on March 18 and he’s celebrating at COCA! Mermaid Theatre of Nova Scotia’s Treasured Stories by Eric Carle runs this weekend in COCA’s Founders’ Theatre. This re-telling of the popular Eric Carle books – The Very Hungry Caterpillar; Brown Bear, Brown Bear What Do You See? and Papa Get The Moon For Me – uses music, stunning visual effects and innovative puppetry. The show is at 7 p.m. 
    • The Melting Pot's 13th Anniversary — Enjoy a special four-course menu and complimentary cocktails for just $39/per person. There will be live music and door prizes like. Call me at 314-725-4141.
    • TYGA with YG, Lil Twist at The Pageant — The doors open at 7 p.m. The show begins at 8 p.m. Tickets are $27.
    • CD Release Party at Cicero's — This Is Falling CD Release Show, Cities Captive, Inlow, Breakdances With Wolves and The Great South at 7 p.m. The cover is $10 for ages 17 and older.
    • Money for Guns, Animal Empty and The Airliners at Blueberry Hill — Doors open at 8 p.m. and the show starts at 9 p.m. There is a $5 cover charge.

    Saturday

    • Treasured Stories by Eric Carle — Mermaid Theatre of Nova Scotia’s Treasured Stories by Eric Carle runs this weekend in COCA’s Founders’ Theatre. The shows are at 2 and 5 p.m.
    • North Mississippi All-Stars with Powder Mill at The Pageant — The doors open at 7 p.m. The show begins at 8 p.m. Tickets are $20 in advance and $22.50 at the door.
    • Ewan Dobson, Gareth Pearson, Ryan Spendlove and Craig D'Andrea at Cicero's — Show starts at 8 p.m. Tickerts are $15-18. The show is restricted to 17 and up.
    • Cronus, JJ Blue and The Herd at Blueberry Hill — Doors open at 8 p.m. for a 9 p.m. show. There is a $5 cover charge.

    Sunday

    • Treasured Stories by Eric Carle — Mermaid Theatre of Nova Scotia’s Treasured Stories by Eric Carle runs this weekend in COCA’s Founders’ Theatre. The shows are at 1:30 and 3:30 p.m.
    • Dude City, The Spins and Blue Fruit Snacks at Cicero's — The show starts at 7:30 p.m. Cover charge is $7. Restricted to ages 17 and up.
