Crow, Carr, Sharpe Win Seats on City Council

Municipal election was held Tuesday.

Incumbents won two of three seats on the City Council Tuesday. Arthur Sharpe Jr. was unopposed for his Ward 3 seat. Ward 1 Councilman Terry Crow defeated challenger Carol Wofsey to retain his seat.

In the only open race, Paulette Carr defeated Jan Adams in the Ward 2 race. Councilwoman Lynn Ricci did not seek reelection.

Council members serve four-year terms.

Calls to candidates Tuesday were not returned in time for publication.

All precincts were counted Tuesday night. Election results will be certified within 14 days. The results from Tuesday's election are:

The School District of University City

There was no  Tuesday for the school board. Two candidates — incumbent Linda Peoples and challenger John Clark — filed for the two open seats on the board.

They will be sworn in at a board meeting Thursday.
