Brittany Woods Principal Named Middle School Principal of the Year

Award comes from the St. Louis Association of Secondary School Principals.

Jamie Jordan has been named 2012 Middle School Principal of the Year by the St. Louis Association of Secondary School Principals (SASSP). Dr. Jordan has been principal of Brittany Woods Middle School in University City since 2009.

“I’m honored by this award, but it wouldn’t be possible without the great team of assistant principals, teachers, support staff and volunteers who work together to make Brittany Woods Middle School a great place for students each and every day,” said Jordan.

Prior to coming to University City, Dr. Jordan served as an assistant principal in the Rockwood School District. She began her career teaching social studies at Lindbergh High School and later advanced to serve as the school’s Social Science Department Chairperson. Jordan is also a National Board Certified Teacher.

“Dr. Jordan has been a strong leader for our middle school the past three years, and I know she will continue to have a positive impact on staff, students and the community,” said Joylynn Pruitt, superintendent of schools. “She champions the philosophy that every staff member has the opportunity to make a difference for every student every day.”

Dr. Jordan will be honored at the SASSP banquet on May 2, and she will be a candidate for the Missouri Middle School Principal of the Year honor, which will be awarded next spring.
