Saint Louis County conducts its annual sale of tax delinquent property on the fourth Monday of August each year, which this year will be Aug. 27, 2012.
The sale will start at 10 a.m. in the County Council Chambers on the first floor of County Administration building, 41 South Central Avenue, Clayton.
Sales will be made to the highest bidder at public auction, and all sales are final.
All persons wishing to participate in the sale must register before making bids. Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. on the day of the sale in the Office of the Collector of Revenue, located on the street level of the County Administration building.
All Bidders must have some form of verifiable current picture identification and must be current on their taxes.
There will be no changes in registration made after the fact, except for a properly noted assignment of the certificate of purchase.
A complete list of properties available for bid will be published in the St. Louis Countian on July 24, July 31 and on Aug. 7, 2012. Please remember that the list is subject to change without notice as property owners may pay the delinquent taxes before the time of the tax sale.
As of July 24, that list and accompanying instructions can be accessed at http://revenue.stlouisco.com/Collection/TaxSales.
The online list will be updated periodically, but remains subject to change without notice.
Please be sure to adhere to all instructions accompanying the list. Failure to understand the provisions listed could result in substantial material and monetary loss.
Anyone with questions regarding the tax sale is encouraged to contact the delinquent tax department at 314-615-4207.
